The day of creation of the heavens and the earth

Apart from being a special day and extensive rewards from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) are promised for those observing it, this day is of great historical significance. Al-Muharram is of critical importance not only due to the Day of Ashura, but the whole month of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) is blessed.

Al- Muharram is a month of repentance and worship of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala). For a grain of alms on the Day of Ashura, the Merciful will grant a reward as large as mount Uhud. On the tenth day of Al-Muharram it is recommended to give sadaqah, make children and relatives happy, read the Holy Quaran and perform other good deeds. Therefore do not miss this chance.

The Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) said that after Ramadan, the best time to observe fasting is in the month of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala). The best thing to do will be to observe fast on the ninth and tenth day of Al- Muharram. The observance of fast on the tenth and eleventh days are placed on a lower level. And then comes fasting exclusively on the Day of Ashura without any adjoining days. Some Islamic scholars argue that it is better to observe fasting during all three days, but it is considered that a view to fast during two days is a more correct one. Because it corresponds more to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhhamad (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam), who said: begin to observe fast one day before it and continue to fast one day after it.

Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) has chosen a lunar calendar for his servants and Muslims should remember that this chronology is the only true one. The Almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) said in the Holy Quaran that indeed Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) has got twelve month. It was put this way in the Holy Scripture on the day the Almighty (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) created the heavens and the earth. Four months of them are forbidden. This is the right religion for you so do not behave unjustly in respect of yourselves.
